SB20 Ireland are delighted to announce a 3 Part Webinar series on Race Training delivered by Shane Hughes of North Sails starting Tuesday 12th May at 8pm, for 3 consecutive weeks.  This series will be specifically focused on SB20 skills.

Each Webinar will finish with 3 Virtual Regatta races, with a total of 9 races in the series.  So get practicing now!!! https://www.virtualregatta.com/en/inshore-game/

SB20 Training Agenda: 

Tuesday 12th May 

  • Preparation – planning your program/campaign efficiently 
  • Upwind focus (Trim & Setup, Kinetics/weight movement to improve performance, onboard communications) 
  • Focus on tacks – what elements feed into the perfect tack 
  • Windward mark rounding’s and sets – straight set or gybe set? Which to go for and why inc. rules discussion 
  • Virtual Regatta (3 races) 

Tuesday 19th May 

  • Downwind focus (Trim and setup, Kinetics / weight movement, onboard communications) 
  • Focus on gybes – what elements feed into the perfect gybe 
  • Leeward mark rounding’s and drops – Windward, leeward and Kiwi/gybe drops inc. rules discussion 
  • Virtual Regatta (3 races) 

Tuesday 26th May 

  • Rig Tune & Sail Trim for light, medium and strong winds 
  • Starting – strategies and rules 
  • Virtual Regatta (3 Races)

Sessions will include a deep dive into Sail Trim and insights into latest analysis software, below are some examples:

Attendees must be 2020 members of Irish SB20 Class Association: Paid via Teamer (€4o eur per boat, annual membership has been reduce from €100 last year to a this special rate for 2020), you will receive a request for 2020 membership payment, if not already paid, after registration to the email address provided in form below. (This is a manual process so might take some time, so don’t leave registration to last minute).
