Congratulations to the crew of “Should Be” on winning this years Spring warmer series in Howth Yacht Club. Ably helmed by Mick O’Connor, with Owen Laverty as middle and Gavin Murphy up front, the winners finished well over Davy Taylor’s Boat Mech in second place and Shane Murphy’s Dinghy Supplies in third place.

The series, sponsored by Key Capital Investments, was run over three Saturdays in Howth Yacht Club and saw varied weather conditions throughout. With extremely close racing from start to finish, The event was thoroughly enjoyed by the fleet of 12 SB20’s.Today’s racing saw downwind gusts of over 20 knots with many crews reporting planing speeds of over 15 knots! Some of them may even have been telling the truth…

Safe to say the cobwebs are now truly gone from the winter off-season for all entrants. With the Eastern Championships taking place in a few short weeks in the National Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire, a fiercely competitive season is in the offing! Results to follow.
